Payroll Account Manager/Customer Service Rep

APS Inc. is seeking a customer service representative with a fundamental knowledge of payroll processes, taxes and calculations to join its Account Management Team. Account Managers work inside the corporate office and are responsible for assisting clients in phone and computer-based support of our web-based application APS OnLine.

The account manager works independently and with internal departments to log and accommodate customer requests and needs. You will need to be technologically savvy and able to navigate several computer-based tools, including Excel, the Internet and our proprietary software programs. The account manager will deliver professional, courteous service to all clients. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a reputation for owning and resolving items brought to his/her attention.

DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist customers in utilizing the features of APS OnLine, including payroll, reporting, employee record maintenance, accruals.
  • Exceed customer expectations with timely, accurate accommodation of requests and needs.
  • Resolve and log first level support issues in a timely manner.
  • Input client payroll data when necessary.
  • Scan and index customer correspondence in accordance with company policies.
  • Analyze and enter data for garnishments, deductions, incomes, and accruals.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of company's policies and systems.
  • Learn, understand, and communicate information regarding federal and state payroll laws.
  • Provide backup assistance to other associates when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Required: minimum three years' experience in a professional setting where payroll or human resources were primary job functions.
  • Post-high school education or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes: calculations, tax types, incomes & deductions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet browsers, email, 10 key/calculator.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor with coworkers and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to study and sit for the American Payroll Association's Fundamentals of Payroll Certification.
