Tax Services
Our Tax Service is simple.
Once your payroll has been submitted, we handle
the rest. No clicks, transfers, or payments
are required on your behalf. Don't be fooled
by companies that claim responsibility for accurate
tax payments and filings, but require you to
initiate all payments and filings. Or only guarantee
the tax calculations to be accurate.
Over 95% of our clients
elect to use our tax service. As the Reporting
Agent for your company, APS will assume the
liability for the accuracy and timeliness of
your payroll tax deposits and filings. That
means we sign the return and file the taxes.
Our service includes:
- Processing your data to determine when taxes
are due
- Initiating payment of taxes via EFTPS, electronic
funds transfer, or check
- Preparing, signing and filing all payroll
tax returns
- Responding to tax agency correspondence
on your behalf
- Preparing Tax Deposit Statements and copies
of tax returns for your records
Here's how it works:
Every pay day, we
will debit your designated account for the total
tax liability (Federal and State) associated
with that payroll. You will receive a Cash Requirements
Statement before check day so that you know
your total liability before the funds are debited.
Your tax funds are then maintained in our trust
account and paid to the appropriate tax agency
on or before the date they are due. All corresponding
tax returns are also filed on your behalf.
The following payments and
filings are processed electronically or on magnetic
media when available:
- Internal Revenue Service: EFTPS compliance,
forms 941 and 940
- State Withholding: All state withheld income
taxes
- State Unemployment: All state unemployment
reports
- State Disability: All state disability payments
for applicable states
- Local Taxes: All applicable local payroll
taxes
- Social Security Administration: Forms W-2
and W-3
Our responsibilities don't end
when your taxes are filed. Penalty abatement
is an integral part of our tax service. Should
you receive any correspondence from a tax agency
during the time that we process your payroll,
we'll handle it. If a penalty is due to an APS
error, we'll assume responsibility for the penalty
abatement process and absorb the fines and/or
interest due.* APS also maintains all taxpayer
records in accordance with government regulations.
We will provide copies of tax filings and tax
deposit statements at the end of each quarter.
*APS guarantees tax payments
and filings to be accurate and on time as long
as the data provided to APS is accurate and
timely, and the customers account is sufficiently
funded to cover all payroll tax liabilities.
