APS OnLine Q1 Software Releases

APS OnLine v5 NewsShreveport, LA - April 25, 2013 - Automatic Payroll Systems, Inc. (APS) is pleased to announce the software releases that occurred during Q1 of 2013. APS always strives to provide the best user experience to our customers and in this process of continuous improvement, APS made important updates and enhancements to our software, APS OnLine. Here is an overview of software releases that were made:

Payroll

Remote Check Printing

Allows companies to eliminate shipping costs without relinquishing control of running payroll from a central corporate office. It also helps companies that are transitioning to paperless payroll.

General Ledger Integrations

Several updates were made to programs such as QuickBooks Online GL Export, MAS 500 GL Export, Xpient Custom Import, RTI Import, Stratis Import, Emaint Import. See our entire data integrations profile.

HR

eSELFSERVE.COM Check Stubs

An overall layout enhancement of total compensation reporting. Total compensation is a great benefit to employers because it allows staff to see true compensation, including everything an employer contributes. APS not only enhanced the layout for clarity but also extended this feature to all APS customers.

New Employee Wizard Changes

Email capability has been incorporated into the new Employee Wizard to streamline the process of giving employees access to eSELFSERVE.COM and immediate access to the online time clock or timesheet. Companies that manage HR and payroll central at a corporate office but allow managers at other locations to add staff will enjoy this feature.

Time & Attendance

Timesheets Official Release

Employees have the ability to report time by total hours worked per day or by start and end times worked per day. Additional income types, such as sick and vacation, may be reported and may also be assigned to a specific department. Supervisors and payroll administrators may view and either approve or deny time submissions. APS OnLine now offers four time capture options: Quick Punch, Desktop Login, Biometric Verification, and rounding out the group, Timesheets. Companies have the option to utilize multiple time capture methods as they see fit.

Reporting

Reporting may be the most frequently performed task of HR and payroll departments and can be equally as frustrating. HR and payroll departments are at the center of internal reporting needs and external reporting to third-party benefit providers and government agencies. APS OnLine features employee, payroll, HR, and Time & Attendance reports designed to make these tasks much easier to manage. The 1st quarter updates made to our reporting console are essential in continuing to provide robust reporting to our customers.

Employee Demographic Fields

The Report Builder template now provides demographic fields previously available only on the Employee Census report on all report templates. This release further enhances APS OnLine’s Custom Reporting feature, which allows users to create an unlimited number of custom reports. Users can build reports that illustrate true labor costs of total compensation or that expand the relationship between hours and earnings.

Workers Compensation Reports

This flexibility to determine what income items are included in the Worker’s Compensation report has always been available, but enhancements have been made to further clarify what is excluded and the corresponding amount. The result can save our customers time and, potentially, save money.

Approved Hours Report

This report now has the functionality to be run for a specific date range, making it much more accurate. All timecards historical data is available for reporting and makes it easy to view trends and hold staff accountable.
