APS Successfully Completes SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 1 Audit
Shreveport, LA - February 26, 2015 - APS, a leader in cloud-based workforce management solutions and payroll tax compliance services, has successfully completed its first Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 SOC 1 Type 1 audit. The audit, which tested APS services and corporate controls, provided an objective evaluation that APS’s systems and processes are secure. APS is committed to a continuous SOC 1 process to provide APS’s customers a continued assurance, transparency, and confidence in the APS unified cloud platform.
APS’s control environment is designed to ensure the security and reliability of its proprietary software, APS OnLine, in which customers handle their workforce management tasks. The first step APS took in its commitment to customer security was the release of two-factor authentication. This security measure utilizes a password and authorized device for system access, providing an additional layer of security for APS customers.
SSAE 16 is the auditing standard developed in 2011 by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that replaced SAS 70. SSAE 16 defines all the requirements applicable to data centers and other hosting providers.
