It’s officially 2018 and with a new year comes a clean slate. But one of the things that may still be lingering from 2017 is year-end processing. January and February are the time of year where you’re probably wrapping up those final tasks. Payroll Tasks

Before Your First 2018 Payroll

  • Review and Update Employee Deductions
  • Review and Update Retirement Plan Catch-Up Contributions
  • Finish ACA Reporting
  • Review 2018 State Minimum Wage Changes
  • Review 2018 SUTA Wage Base Changes

Second Week of January

  • Prepare for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Payroll Processing

End of January 2018

  • Communicate with Employees About Their Forms W-2
  • File Your Forms W-2
  • File Your Forms 1099-MISC
  • Distribute W-2s and 1099s to Employees and Contractors
  • Distribute 1095-Cs to Employees ***DEADLINE EXTENDED***
  • Pay Your FUTA Invoice

End of February 2018

  • File Forms 1094-C and 1095-C

1095-C Employee Distribution Deadline Extended

The IRS has extended the deadline to distribute Forms 1095-C to your employees from January 31, 2018 to March 2, 2018.

  • Post Updated Federal and State Compliance Posters
