It’s officially 2019 and with a new year comes a chance to start with a clean slate. But the elephant in the room that may still be lingering from 2018 is year-end processing. January and February are the time of year where you’re working hard to wrap up those final tasks. To help you focus on accomplishing what’s left, here is your final Year-End Snapshot for January and February:

Payroll Tasks

Before Your First 2019 Payroll

  • Review and Update Employee Deductions
  • Review and Update Retirement Plan Catch-Up Contributions
  • Finish ACA Reporting
  • Review 2019 State Minimum Wage Changes
  • Review 2019 SUTA Wage Base Changes

Second Week of January

  • Prepare for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Payroll Processing

End of January 2019

  • Communicate with Employees About Their Forms W-2
  • Distribute W-2s and 1099s to Employees and Contractors
  • Distribute Forms 1095-C to Employees
  • File Forms W-2
  • File Forms 1099-MISC

End of February 2019

  • File Forms 1094-C and 1095-C
